Great Lakes Sport Horses and Ponies
|
I started retraining and selling
ponies when I was 12 years old. I called
them my "project ponies". I would take rescued
and backyard ponies, many from people
who could not properly take care of them. Some of my
ponies came from the kill pen at auctions and others
were just very neglected. I would turn them into
wonderful children's ponies. The Ponies then eventually
led to horses. I have a great passion for starting young
horses and taking problem horses and finding them a
life long job. I take great pride in selling my horses and
ponies to people who will love and show them for many
years. I like to find my horses and ponies jobs like
taking care of children so they will always have a loving
home!
I work with my trainer, Leslie Webb, to give my horses
and ponies the best possible training and show
experience. My young horses gain great show miles when
they tag along with me to the A shows. Throughout my
life I have never denied a catch ride and keep working
to further my knowledge of training horses. So far I
have trained and sold over 30 horses. I couldn't do any
of this without the wonderful help and the years of
knowledge from my mom, Irene, and my dad, Karl (who
built my barn for me when I was eight years old)!
I am now in my second year of college for nursing and
my riding time has become limited. For now my Focus is
changing to breeding. I have a fabulous brood mare
right now and once I sell my current three year old I
am looking to purchase a second. I am also raising my
own stallion prospect, Illesandro.
